pixel art plugin for photoshop

Hi Artists & Game Developers,

Photoshop is widely known as a go-to software for digital painting, but in my experience, it works surprisingly well for pixel art thanks to its powerful color manipulation tools. As someone who works in both mediums, Photoshop is my preferred choice for switching seamlessly between the two.

However, to get sharp, crisp pixel art, you have to adjust settings across several different tools. While it’s not difficult, toggling those settings manually every time you switch modes becomes a real chore.

To solve this, I created Pixel-Switch-a lightweight Photoshop plugin. Its job is simple: one click sets up your workspace for Pixel Art, and one more click flips it back to Digital Painting.

You can grab the plugin along with the setup guide here:

This is a really useful little tool for anyone working on pixel art for games. I like that Pixel Switch can quickly toggle between crisp pixel-art settings and softer digital painting settings without having to adjust each selection tool manually. Keeping sprites sharp when resizing is especially important for retro-style games, where even a little unwanted blur can affect the overall look. Tools that simplify these small but repetitive tasks give artists more time to focus on creativity and game design. I’m always interested in discovering new gaming experiences, and I sometimes explore options like FF Beta when looking for something different to play. Great work making the pixel-art workflow more convenient!
